Our Mission

Our mission to impact the world and change lives is an important one, and anything important needs direction and focus. Our direction and focus can be summarized with our mission statement, which reflects three core ideas:

“One Mission, Many Ministries, Every Member”

One Mission

The church has a unique purpose that no other entity can claim: it exists to share the gospel and serve our Lord and Savior. It exists to witness to the Kingdom of God. At Ross Baptist Church, we strive to reflect this one overriding mission in everything we do. We don’t want to just serve, we want to serve with a purpose, and that purpose is the Glory of God.

“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” (Romans 11:36 ESV)

Many Ministries
While we have one mission, that mission expresses itself in many different ways. Discipleship classes, missions work, children’s activities, a food pantry, community involvement… each of these ministries reflect our mission in some way, and we try to share the message of the Bible in each of them.
“To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people that by all means I might save some.” (1 Corinthians 9:22 ESV)

Every Member
The church is not a building, nor is it the staff or leaders. The church includes every believer in Jesus Christ, and every believer in Jesus Christ has a role to play in the mission and ministry of the church. While no one can possibly serve in every ministry, everyone should serve in a ministry.

“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” (1 Corinthians 12:12 ESV)
