Serve

We desire every member to find a place of service. Each member, whether serving as a greeter, a small group teacher, or any other volunteer position, is essential to the work of Ross Baptist Church. We place a special emphasis on protecting children and students and have a three step process before anyone can work with minors.

Step One: Church Membership

A person may only serve in positions of ministry to minors if the person has completed the process and become a member of Ross Baptist Church.

Step Two: Sexual Abuse Awareness Training

All staff members and volunteers should have a basic understanding of the characteristics of sexual abusers and their behaviors in “grooming” a child for sexual abuse. Ross Baptist Church requires all individuals serving with minors to complete MinistrySafe Sexual Abuse Awareness Training. This training must be renewed every two years.

Step Three: Criminal Background Check

All staff members and volunteers working with minors must undergo a criminal background check. Depending upon the ministry position, individuals who have committed sexually oriented or sex-related crimes may not serve in any area providing services to minors. In addition, certain other past criminal acts may preclude an applicant from serving minors. Background Checks will be re-run every two years.
